Chokseongnu PavilionThe scenic view of Chokseongnu Pavilion on Jinju Fortress is stunningly beautiful. Although there are no colorful patterns or vanish painting, it boasts a simple yet attractive elegance. At Chokseongnu, visitors can experience pure beauty and sense the spirit of Jinju.
- Chokseongnu was repeatedly built, destroyed and then rebuilt throughout Korea’s turbulent history. Since its construction in the 28th year of King Gojong’s reign (1241) during the Goryeo Dynasty, it has been built and destroyed a total of nine times.
- This charming structure has a wealth of tales to tell from its 770-year history.
It also experienced the Imjin Waeran,
the Japanese Invasion launched in the Imjin Year (1592). It is a symbol of national pride and the Korean people’s resistance against external invasions. Along with the Jinju Fortress, it represents the spirit of Jinju. The scenic view of Jinju Fortress is like a water painting. It is so beautiful that it is the perfect place for romantic outing.
